Happy 4th of July weekend everybody, America is truly the greatest country in the world! 🇺🇸
Here’s a 3-minute read that could change how you start your next business.
Here’s the problem: everyone says to start a business by “monetizing your skills” BUT, what does that mean to an SDR or Account Executive?
When I hear that phrase this is the first thing I think of is…
→ VP of Sales creating a course to sell
→ Graphic designers creating logos and branding templates
→ Executives consulting on startup shenanigans
→ LinkedIn Influencers creating a paid community
→ Hobbyists creating a YouTube channel
I’ve been in sales for 8 years and struggled to know how regular reps can monetize their skills… until I heard about Fractional SDRs.
In case you’re new here, I host a weekly podcast interviewing sales reps turned entrepreneurs. To see how I got started go here.
You might be asking, what’s a Fractional SDR?
A Fractional SDR is an experienced Sales Development Representative who knows how to run basic tech tools, outreach campaigns, and can consistently book qualified meetings on a contract basis. They can operate similarly to a growth agency but focus strictly on bringing qualified business to said companies. Typically they can charge $300-$500 per qualified meeting booked.
4 reasons why I think Fractional SDRs are legit:
Traditional SDRs going out
Outbound isn’t dead, but bad outbound is. It doesn’t work for the cost acquisition model anymore to hire 20 SDRs with a 4-month ramp, 30% quota attainment, and $70k OTE. Cash is tight and no one can afford to take unnecessary risk.
Companies already hire Fractional VPs of Sales, CMOs, and CTOs
Why should execs get to enjoy all the fun?
Your sales tech quotient is higher than you think
Tech companies for the last 5 years have been the most well-funded, sales-trained, and tech-enabled orgs on the entire planet. You’ve basically spent years in the best sales BootCamp ever. 23.6% of worldwide businesses still sell B2B, and most are SMBs that have limited resources.
Home service and non-tech companies are trending
Tech is getting slaughtered as companies seek to adopt AI and aim for profitability. Companies will always need revenue. Now, many companies can adopt results-driven growth agencies like Fractional SDRs at affordable rates.
Okay, so now what..?
A few months back, I met up with Hunter Deskin on the podcast to learn how he started earning six figures as a Fractional SDR (podcast link). He’s now launching the FIRST-EVER Fractional SDR cohort to help SDRs start their first side hustle!
